AmCham Social Responsibility Committee was very happy to receive first feedback from one of last year scholarship winner Margit Timofejeva.
Margit is a young talented girl, who grew up in Palivere orphanage. She is studying in Tallinn Pedagogical Seminar and will become a teacher.
We keep in touch with Margit on a regular basis and wish her good luck with her studies. She said this in a recent email: “I am very grateful to you for the scholarship! It has helped me a lot. It was almost impossible to make home works without printer and copier. And now I can do much more things. For the second part of the scholarship grant I bought some clothes. When I had a practice in the kindergarten it was sometimes quite cold to play with children outdoors that is why I have decided to buy warm trousers and winter shoes.
As for the university, I am doing fine right now. I had 5 weeks of practice, which I finished recently. Each time I have a practice, I realize that I study the right area. I want to teach children, make hand-made articles with them etc. I also go in for basketball and have started dancing courses. We even made a small Christmas performance at school. The next semester will start in the end of January, so I have to pass only one exam, other exams I have passed very well (A, A, C). "
Thank you!
Margit Timofejeva. AmCham appreciates all donations made to our Charity fund and hope that we will be able to support even more kids from orphanages in 2009.
