AmCham Annual Chili Cook Off 2017

On August 24, over 80 AmCham members and partners gathered in the cosy picturesque inner courtyard of the Texas Honky Tonk & Cantina to kick off the new business season, enjoy authentic delicious margaritas from the host, and explore the different shades of chili masterfully created by our contestant teams!

All participants made a huge effort and have put up amazing stations with authentic decorations, costumes, complementing garnishes, and, of course, – delicious chili! We were truly blown away by the level of preparation of all teams!

Our jury team, which included  Nele Normak (Coca-Cola Balti Jookide AS) , Hannes Aedla (Prike AS), Annika Rumjantsev (Texas Honky Tonk & Cantina), sommelier Jennifer Mitchell and Omar Facuse (U.S. Embassy) had to make a very difficult decision and choose the best of the best!

Also, our tasters did a great job attending to all the stations, trying out different variations of this spicy dish (some of them were super HOT!!!) and picked their own favorite!

When it came down to counting the votes, all teams were very close, but in the end, the Stenhus Team representing Hotel Schlössle took the first place! Our tasters voted for Shamena and Aiden Nurse with their Kings’ Chili to be the People´s Choice.

We would also like to thank Coca Cola for sponsoring the soft drinks, Paulig Group for providing us with Santa Maria chips and gifts for all the contestants and Prike AS for the delicious handicraft beer and cider!

And of course we would like to thank all the teams, who took their time to prepare the chili and even more time to prepare all the details, which made this chili cook-off experience so wonderful!
