AmCham Annual Spring Gala Dinner 2015

On May 14, 2015  AmCham members, Estonian dignitaries, speakers from the Latitude59 conference, and international business professionals attended the Spring Gala Dinner 2015 at the House of the Blackheads, in honor of Estonian-U.S. cooperation and business ties.

Guests were offered a special cocktail as they arrived, a Manhattan, and also had their pictures taken in the foyer by Sergey Krasiy from Fotki. After everyone slowly trickled into the elegantly decorated hall, Andrus Alber, AmCham Estonia President, and Andrus Viirg, Enterprise Estonia Silicon Valley, welcomed guests to this annual event.

U.S. Ambassador to Estonia, Hon. Jeff Levine and Estonian IT Scientist Mr. Linnar Viik both delivered keynote speeches on Estonian-American cooperation, successes and prospects. Frens Catering then began serving a unique and flavorful American-Estonian themed 3-course dinner specially prepared for the occasion with wine and spirits, generously provided by Altia Eesti AS.
After the first course was served, guests enjoyed a special performance by Mr. Oliver Kuusik, principal tenor at the Estonian National Opera. His compelling voice filled the hall wonderfully and guests offered a standing ovation at the end of his performance.

Next, Ambassador Levine and Brett Makens, who have continuously contributed and supported AmCham over the years, were welcomed to the stage and graciously thanked with an Estonian-themed gift, Click and Grow’s Smart Herb Garden. Both will be leaving Estonia over the summer. AmCham employees Marina Pushkar and Lindsey Travers were also thanked and given beautiful spring bouquets, as they are both leaving the Chamber.

After the main course was served, Niels Hollender and Mihail Burohh ran the AmCham Annual Charity Auction, with all proceeds going to the AmCham Charity Fund 2015. Timo Tirkkonen took home the romantic, two-night trip with airfare to Istanbul, provided by Swissotel and Turkish Airlines. Ambassador Jeff Levine got the modern weekend getaway to Copenhagen, provided by Radisson Blu Hotel and Estonian Air. Yrjo Ojasaar collected the painting by Navitrolla entitled, “Little Whale Catcher.” Alo Jürgenstein got the other painting by Alisa Jakobi entitled, “A Peacock.”
We are delighted to announce that the auction raised 6,100 Euros for the AmCham Charity Fund!!

After dessert and coffee were served, Enterprise Estonia welcomed everyone to join the after party, hosted by Transferwise, at Kultuurikatel.

A big thank you goes to the event sponsors – Microsoft, Coca-Cola Baltics and LEXTAL, as well as the event host – House of the Blackheads, and our event partners and supporters – Nexus Printing, Altia Eesti AS, Estonia Piano Factory, Latitude 59, and Click and Grow.
