On September 6, AmCham Estonia gathered over 100 leaders of foreign and local business community for the 12th annual meeting with the Prime Minister of Estonia, Mr. Jüri Ratas at the beautiful Blackheads’ House. Jüri Ratas opened his speech with the remarks on the current economical situation, bringing out the fact that Estonia is in a really good shape at the moment with the economic growth of 5%, exceeding the most optimistic expectations. As one of the important keys to economic prosperity, the Prime Minister underlined the importance of taking regional perspective, developing and cultivating connections with our neighbors, both transport and business wise.
Further on, PM Ratas elaborated on his recent trade mission to the U.S., mentioning the importance of establishing new relations and the necessity to be open to innovation, maintaining digitalization and free movement of data to be one of the top priorities. Concluding his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized the relevance of strengthening transatlantic ties, mentioning that bilateral relations between Estonia and U.S. have never been stronger and pre-announced the next business visit to US in early 2018 to be organized in cooperation with AmCham Estonia.
