AmCham Celebrates Saara Margaret Kaju as the 1st honoree of the “Spotlight on Tomorrow” award at the AmCham Thanksgiving Dinner 2025

AmCham is proud to introduce a new initiative “Spotlight on Tomorrow: Recognising Young Talents.”

This program is designed to highlight and celebrate the achievements of an exceptional young individual—someone who embodies the spirit of creativity, leadership, innovation, and community contribution. It is a tribute not only to young talent, but to the values we hold as a chamber: opportunity, courage, progress, and giving back.

Through “Spotlight on Tomorrow,” AmCham Estonia plans to recognise a young person who has already made a remarkable mark—whether in science or the arts, in sports or entrepreneurship, in activism or community building. Someone who isn’t afraid to imagine boldly, act bravely, and uplift others along the way.

The very first honoree of this special program was announced at the AmCham Annual Thanksgiving Family Dinner & Charity Raffle 2025. We sincerely congratulate Saara Margaret Kaju—a 15-year-old spark of curiosity from Gustav Adolf Grammar School who somehow fits science, storytelling, sports, and a serious love of ice cream into the same day.

Saara is a three-time finalist in the National Contest of Young Inventors and the winner of Estonia’s first student parabolic-flight competition, ESTRONAUT (Yes, she actually got to try flying in zero gravity. At thirteen. No big deal.)

She also placed 12th in the National Biology Olympiad, which might explain why she’s the kind of person who can casually drop a fascinating zoology fact into any conversation. And because her creativity doesn’t stay in the lab, Saara is also the winner of the Sten Roos Fairytale Writing Competition. Since who says you can’t mix petri dishes with plot twists?

Saara is a proud graduate of the all-girl technology program Unicorn Squad, and she’s now leveling up by learning to fly drones at Unicorn Squad Pro: which is as cool as it sounds.

Beyond her achievements, Saara is simply someone who loves natural sciences, books, volleyball, music, and ice cream. Not necessarily in that order.

Congratulations to Saara and we truly look forward to celebrating more young individuals in the upcoming years!
