Tallinn, Estonia – June 18, 2024 – The American Chamber of Commerce in Estonia (AmCham Estonia) Digital Society Committee has proudly co-signed the joint statement on the European Cybersecurity Certification Scheme for Cloud Services (EUCS). Initiated by the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, this significant statement has been successfully delivered to European officials and relevant stakeholders at the national level across the respective countries.
The joint statement acknowledges the substantial progress made in the ongoing EUCS discussions and expresses robust support for the latest proposal. It underscores the urgent need for Member States and the European Commission to adopt the proposal swiftly. The statement argues that an inclusive and non-discriminatory EUCS, which promotes the free movement of cloud services within Europe, is essential for the prosperity of European businesses. Such a scheme will enable businesses to thrive both domestically and across the European market, while simultaneously bolstering the resilience and security of Europe’s digital landscape.
“We are honored to be part of this significant initiative,” said Christa Torm, Chair of the AmCham Estonia Digital Society Committee. “The adoption of a robust and inclusive cybersecurity certification scheme for cloud services is vital for the future of European businesses and the security of our digital market. We believe that the swift adoption of the EUCS will enhance resilience and security across Europe.”
