AmCham Estonia Launches Defense, Security and Resilience Committee

AmCham Estonia today hosted the founding meeting of its newly established Defense, Security and Resilience Committee, marking an important step in strengthening dialogue and cooperation in security- and defense-related sectors. The inaugural meeting took place on February 5 at the COBALT law firm offices.

The new committee is being formed to bring together AmCham members who are active in or interested in defense, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, transportation, energy, dual-use technologies, and other security and resilience-related fields. It will serve as a dedicated platform for collaboration and engagement with Estonian and U.S. stakeholders on topics of growing strategic importance.

As Estonia and its allies face an increasingly complex security environment, the committee aims to:

      • Strengthen transatlantic cooperation between Estonian and U.S. businesses and institutions

      • Support members in navigating defense and security-related markets and policy landscapes

      • Promote best practices, innovation, and resilience, including in cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection

      • Facilitate meaningful exchange with government representatives, experts, and industry peers

The committee launches with strong interest from the AmCham community, bringing together more than 25 member companies, including Raytheon RTX, Google, Microsoft, Honeywell, Motorola Solutions, G4S, Port of Tallinn, Exponaut, AWS, Sorainen, Hedman, Meta Advisory, TalTech, Miltton New Nordics, Nortal, Buckthorn, EO59, Telia Eesti AS, Palo Alto Networks, and others.

“This committee represents a significant milestone for AmCham Estonia and reflects the evolving priorities of our member community,” said Daria Sivovol, CEO of AmCham Estonia. “At a time when security, resilience, and transatlantic cooperation are more critical than ever, AmCham is proud to provide a platform that brings together leading companies, experts, and institutions to contribute meaningfully to these vital discussions.”

During the founding meeting, Jesse Kivisaari, Partner at COBALT Law Firm, was elected as the first Chairman of the AmCham Defense, Security and Resilience Committee. In this role, he will lead the committee’s work in shaping its strategic direction, fostering cooperation between public and private sector stakeholders, and advancing meaningful engagement on security and resilience issues across the transatlantic business community.

The first introductory meeting, held at the COBALT Office, introduced the committee’s mission, scope, and planned activities. Participants had the opportunity to discuss priorities, share expectations, and help shape the committee’s agenda for 2026 and beyond, while also networking with fellow members and stakeholders.

AmCham Estonia welcomes interested members to join the Defense, Security and Resilience Committee and contribute to building a stronger, more resilient transatlantic business and security community.
