On February 15, AmCham members got to visit one of the newest members of AmCham- Protex Balti AS. This visit was part of the AmCham Behind-the-Scenes event series.
Protex Balti is located in Tallinn and is a Norwegian family-owned business with history that dates back to 1966, when then the 24 year young and eager entrepreneur David Engan became owner of a small firm named Trønderplast in Alen village, Norway.
Today Protex is a trusted textile service provider to the Scandinavian market and is still managed within the Engan family. Even though the company now has several hundreds employees, has the commitment and personal care for customers, cooperation partners and employees has remained at same high level. The vision of Protex is to be the top textile service provider in Northern Europe. Beside its activities in traditional textile manufacturing, Protex has successfully positioned itself as an innovation driver and partner in the development of tomorrow’s smart textile solutions.
We got to tour the production site, learn about smart textiles and the impact that they will have on our future, touch and feel some of the products. We would like to sincerely thank the Protex team for this excellent opportunity and experience. All of us have definitely learned something new during the visit. Our special thank you goes to Helena Almqvist and Urmas Reinsberg for their warm hospitality and superb presentation.
