On May 10, we held our Annual Women in Leadership Speaker Luncheon 2024 this time devoted to “Change-Makers: Female Founders”. Women who have rejected the status quo and forged their own path. Women who have opted out of the relative security of a traditional role, who felt compelled to do something different. It’s not an easy path: in spite of a robust startup ecosystem in Estonia, only 15-17% of founders are women.
The event was opened by Indrek Laul, AmCham Estonia President and George P. Kent, U.S. Ambassador to Estonia.
The discussion with our 3 esteemed panelists was moderated by Megan Riley, MLR Strategies who is leading the AmCham Women in Leadership Program. We were honoured to have 3 absolutely amazing founders with us:
- Hedi Mardisoo, Cachet
- Triin Kask, Soulie
- Karin Kuusk, Motiveer
Three such different voices sharing experiences and perspectives We had a chance to hear their unique stories, what the decision to become a founder has meant to them, how they think about career, tradeoffs, work, balance, funding, the future.
We would like to thank all speakers, as well as the event partners – Coca-Cola Baltics and AstraZeneca, for your support, participation and a true inspiration that we have received at the event! Also a huge thank you goes to Anne & Stiil and Säde magazines for supporting the event, as well as Vabamu museum for the beautiful space for the event.
