On October 28, AmCham Estonia, with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Tallinn and Estonian Business School (EBS), welcomed members and guests to The Space Mindset with Shelli Brunswick, CEO of SB Global LLC. Hosted at EBS, the event explored how lessons from the space sector can help leaders and entrepreneurs recognise opportunities, navigate change and turn ideas into action
Drawing on her military background and international career, Shelli encouraged participants to “see around the corner”—to look ahead, challenge assumptions and consider possibilities beyond traditional boundaries. Her message extended well beyond the space industry: Build Markets. Build Talent. Build Scale.
As Shelli shared in her reflections for the event:
“The Space Mindset isn’t just about space. It’s about seeing possibilities beyond traditional boundaries.”
Following her presentation, Shelli joined Ester Eomois, Chair of Management at EBS, Lecturer in Management and Leadership, and Executive Trainer in Leadership and Future Work, for a conversation about courage, entrepreneurship and the future of leadership.
The discussion highlighted the importance of asking for help, building networks and listening to people to understand the problems that need solving. Challenges such as space debris offered examples of how complex problems can create opportunities for innovation. Securing investment also emerged as a key challenge in turning entrepreneurial ideas into viable businesses.
Alongside these broader themes, Shelli offered practical advice on personal leadership: assess your strengths and weaknesses, identify your priorities and understand when you do your best work. Protecting time, recognising “time vampires” and learning to say no can help leaders focus their energy where it matters most.
Looking ahead, Shelli shared her ambition to develop the Space Mindset into a global movement that empowers women, young leaders and entrepreneurs. In her words:
“The next frontier isn’t just about exploring space; it’s about unlocking human potential here on Earth.”
AmCham Estonia warmly thanks Shelli Brunswick for sharing her experience and insights, and Ester Eomois for guiding an engaging discussion. Our sincere appreciation goes to the U.S. Embassy in Tallinn and Estonian Business School for supporting the event, and to both teams for their collaboration in bringing our communities together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the conversation.
