Youth Empowered 2023 Ignites Young Minds in Tallinn
On October 7th, over 200 students from across Estonia gathered at the PROTO Invention Factory for the annual Youth Empowered inspiration day, an event founded by Coca-Cola HBC and supported by AmCham Estonia and Junior Achievement, that has become a highlight in the calendar for young people eager to shape their futures. Now in its ninth year, the event once again proved its relevance and popularity—initial spots filled up within days, prompting organizers to add another 50 seats.
The day’s energy was defined by curiosity, ambition, and practical guidance. Students not only heard stories of success and resilience but also explored the real challenges behind building a career or company in today’s fast-changing world.
Key Highlights from the Stage
Among the most anticipated speakers was Carl Pucci (EO59), an American entrepreneur active in Estonia, who shared his candid experiences navigating the highs and lows of the tech industry. His insights resonated strongly with the audience, blending practical advice with motivational storytelling.
Another standout moment came from Michael Burich, founder of the streetwear brand Maison Beast. Burich offered an unfiltered look into the struggles and triumphs of building a creative business, reminding students that setbacks can be stepping stones to bigger opportunities.
Workshops with Future-Focused Themes
Beyond the main stage, the event featured hands-on workshops run by experts from Microsoft, FranklinCovey, TI-HÜPE, and CoinsPaid. Topics ranged from artificial intelligence and leadership skills to the evolving world of cryptocurrencies, giving students tangible knowledge to apply in their studies and future careers.
Guidance and Encouragement
Speakers emphasized not just skills, but also mindset. Kersti Loor, CEO of Junior Achievement Estonia, highlighted how such events create a safe environment for exploration: “The real-life stories shared here give young people the confidence and practical direction they need when making crucial choices about education and career.”
Adding a global perspective, Daria Sivovol, Managing Director of AmCham Estonia, underlined the importance of entrepreneurial role models: “Hearing from companies that grew from Estonia to the international stage shows that local ideas can truly become global success stories.”
Lasting Impact
By the end of the day, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and possibility. Students left with notebooks full of ideas, new contacts, and—most importantly—the belief that their own ambitions can take them far. #YouthEmpowered once again lived up to its name, lighting a spark that many participants will carry into their future endeavors.
