Advancing Global Talent Through International Internships

It was a privilege for AmCham Estonia CEO Daria Sivovol to participate in the CIEE Global Internship Conference (GIC), held in Tallinn, Estonia, on June 10–12, 2026.

The CIEE Global Internship Conference brings together leaders from higher education, industry, and government to advance global work-integrated learning. The event serves as a platform where knowledge is shared, ideas are sparked, and meaningful connections are made to support student success, public diplomacy, and economic growth.

During the workshop focused on best practices and case studies for delivering rewarding internship programs while minimizing risks and challenges, Daria shared AmCham Estonia’s experience of hosting a CIEE intern this year. The discussion highlighted how international internship opportunities help students develop valuable professional skills, gain cross-cultural experience, and better prepare for future career opportunities.

Daria joined an outstanding panel of experts, including Nicole Hunter, Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder, Mari Prok of CIEE Tallinn, and Robby Block, Director of Global Internships at CIEE. Together, they explored practical approaches to creating impactful internship experiences that benefit students, employers, and communities alike.

As organizations continue to navigate an increasingly global and interconnected workforce, partnerships between academia, employers, and international education providers remain essential in preparing the next generation of talent.

Thank you to CIEE for bringing together thought leaders and practitioners committed to empowering students to thrive, contribute to their communities, and address the challenges of our time.
